PROARC HA is the surface treatment technology originally developed by JMM, in which the porous surface of pure titanium is coated with HA. The safe and strong fixation to the bone of PROARC HA is achieved by the bone induction into the undulations on rough surfaces of the PROARC layer through the HA layer; by improvement of initial fixation by induced bone; and after the completion of a curing process, firmer and more stable fixation is seen to be supported by the rough surface layer of pure titanium. |

| PROARC is a porous surface coating of pure-titanium applied by the inert-gas shielding arc spray method processed on the titanium alloy base material with fewer internal defects. |

Titanium
porous technology |
| The porous titanium layer plays an important role in combining the living bone to the stem and cup, and in maintaining the fixation over a long period of time. It is important that the porous titanium layer with moderate sized holes combines with the substructure firmly, and the porous layer itself is carrying out diffusion combining. JMM has established a technology of forming pores with the size of 200-400μm by decompression plasma spray of pure titanium. |

Bottom
coating technology of titanium material |
| Although titanium material already displays excellent biocompatibility, by coating bioactive material on the surface, combination with living bone is promoted. The technology of coating AW glass ceramics (AWGC) to the hole bottom of a titanium porous object is applied to cementless artificial hip joints. |
